The 59 participants were interviewed; allhad signed informed consent forms. Most patients werefemales ; and the mean age was50.17±15.24. Informed consent adequacy was assessedthrough the amount of information received and degree ofdifficulty in understanding the form. Having received previousexplanations was reported by 53%, and having had doubtscleared up, by 24%. Comprehension of what was beingproposed was reported by 56%, but the text was consideredaccessible by only 25%. In conclusion, the use of informedconsent in research projects should be considered seriously, and Ethics Committees should review all the stages involved.Aspects such as comprehension of information, clearing up ofdoubts, and access to the investigator should always beguaranteed to participants
