Abstract

THIS BOOK IS A CRITICAL ANALYSIS OF THE MOST IMPORTANT ARGUMENTS FOR NATURALISM FROM SPINOZA TO THE PRESENT, INCLUDING HUME, KANT, NOWELL-SMITH, DIAMOND, FLEW, AND CHRYSSIDES. EACH ARGUMENT AGAINST MIRACLES IS FOUND WANTING. THE WORK CONTAINS CHAPTERS ON THE IMPOSSIBILITY, INCREDIBILITY, UNREPEATABILITY, UNIDENTIFIABILITY, HISTORICITY AND DEFINABILITY OF MIRACLES. THE CONCLUSION OF THE BOOK IS THAT MIRACLES ARE BOTH POSSIBLE AND ACTUAL
