Abstract

Florensky’s reflexion on human knowledge is based on a concept of deep living experience and on a generalisation of spiritual evolution of a person who has embraced religious faith. According to Florensky, personal steps taken in the spiritual growth are to be considered from point of view of „eternal” questions of life and knowledge. Florensky did not to aspire to change the nature of human mind and reason. He rather strived to point out to a way to Truth which involved the overcoming of self-centeredness of human beliefs. Florensky’s understanding of knowledge is permeated by an insistence on the openness to the primary phenomena of spirit, consciousness, and language through which Eternity is clearly visible. In this, Florensky’s gnoseology in focused on knowledge that transcends the realm of thought. It is live and full of sincere love of wisdom and Truth. Key words FLORENSKY, GNOSEOLOGY
