La educación ciudadana: acerca de un sentido ético y político de la ciudadanía

Abstract

It is necessary to educate citizens so that they consider themselves to be the subjects of rights and duties. In order to defend this thesis, all deficiencies present on the current concept of citizenship are hereby presented. Victoria Camps’ proposal about public virtues is outlined next, allowing the proposition of an understanding of the citizenship from an ethical and political sense. Finally, it is concluded that it is important to consider the education of citizens as an objective to reach in the current society. Everything previously mentioned makes up a debate that must take place in order to determine the course of any society nowadays
