Abstract

This article discusses the role of documentary in memory transmission aimed at uncovering and redressing past legacies. It explores how memories on film are performed and interpreted on film with reference to my documentary, Close To The Bone. It also looks at the contribution documentary film can make to locating, preserving, transforming and protecting autobiographical memories and social histories.
