Abstract

This paper is an attempt to read the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics through the lens of the main concepts of Merleau-Ponty’s philosophy – Chiasm, Flesh, pre-logic Being. It is not an epistemological interpretation, rather an ontological analysis of the two most relevant principles: uncertainty and complementarity. The paper identifies consonance traits between the speculative thinking of Heisenberg, the ontological philosophy of Merleau-Ponty and some aspects of Whitehead’s view of the relationship between the conceptual model of science and its ontological contents.
