La presencia de Ortega y Gasset en Hungría entre 1928 y 1945

Abstract

El presente artículo esboza la influencia que José Ortega y Gasset ejerció en la vida espiritual de Hungría entre 1928 y 1945. Primero vamos a establecer algunos rasgos comunes de la situación social y cultural entre España y Hungría en los siglos XIX y XX, después analizamos las influencias concretas. La influencia de Ortega es más importante en los miembros de la llamada "generación ensayista", es decir, entre escritores, periodistas, ensayistas, y no en la vida académica de la filosofía. Obtiene una atención especial su libro más famoso, "La rebelión de las masas".This article deals with the influence of José Ortega y Gasset on the spiritual life of Hungary between 1928 and 1945. First some common traits are established between the social and cultural situation of Spain and Hungary in the XIXth and XXth century, after that the concrete influences are analised. Ortega's spiritual influence is most palpable among the members of the so-called "essayist generation", that is among writers, journalists, essayists, and not within academic philosophy. Special attention is dedicated to his most famous book, "The Revolt of the Masses"
