Abstract

La philosophie politique de Hobbes acquiert sa pleine validité grâce à la catégorie de la représentation qui apparaît dans le Léviathan. L'ouvrage montre pourquoi il faut saisir le projet de Hobbes dans sa pure radicalité : reconfigurer les conditions ontologiques de toute communauté humaine en substituant le schème de la représentation à celui de l'incarnation. Par là, Hobbes clôt l'époque du corps politique pour ouvrir celle de la personne de l'État.
