Abstract

The Vitruvian articulation between fabrica and ratiocinatio, between experience and knowledge is one of the most fundamental topics of Renaissance epistemology. Now, there remains a radical conflict between a thought of the project, evidence, as it is by the theory of art in Italy and the inductive thought of the Chancelor Bacon. Such a conflict casts a new light on, and alters thoroughly, the genealogy of metaphysics at stake in the matter of technique
