Wang Tingxiang's Idea of "Tao Resides in The Six Confucian Classics"

Abstract

Wang Tingxiang proposed channel resides in the "six by" thinking to "Six Classics" for the lay out of the text, emphasizing seeking the correct path in the "Six Classics", rather than talk about the "Four Books"; and respect Kong and Africa Meng, Song Confucian criticism of the school. To maintain Confucius and the "Six Classics" authority to reduce the Mencius, Zhu Xi and the "Four Books" of the authority and importance of correct Zhu's abuse, which by the History and Science in the history of great significance, reflecting the Wang Tingxiang Classics and Neo-Confucianist of uniqueness. Wang Tingxiang proposed the idea that Tao resides in The Six Confucian Classics and The Six Confucian Classics is used as the vehicle for delivering Tao. He stressed that Tao should be gained in The Six Confucian Classics instead of The Four Books. He advocated to respect Confucius and to downplay the significance of Mencius. He criticized the study of Confuciuss of the Song Dynasty. By safeguarding the authority of Confucius and The Six Confucian Classics, he downplayed the authority and the importance of Mencius, Zhu Xi and The Four Books and amended the flaws of the study of Zhu Xi. This is of great significance in the history of Confucian classics and the history of Neo-Confuciunism. It also embodies the uniqueness of Wang Tingxiang's thought of Confucian classics and Neo-Confucianism
