Abstract

The paper explores the question as to what is European within the European cultural history. This would, among other things, imply having to write the European cultural history, which would emphasize its special features and influences. For this purpose, a number of tools are listed. The final claim is that one can speak of culture as history or history as culture only within the context of Europe
