Abstract

Advancing the notion of progress as an evaluative concept, 23 papers explore the history of economics in investigations as to whether change in schools of economics constitute an advancement of human knowledge. Presented by economists from the U. of Graz, Austria, the papers explore notion of progress in economics, suggest theoretical methodologies for studying progress in the history of ideas, and attempt to evaluate progress in normative economics, monetary economics, trade and location, and t he classical long-period method.
