LANGUAGE SITUATION IN THE SLAVIC WORLD COUNTRIES: TOPICAL ISSUES

Abstract

The article examine the problem of language situation researching in the Slavic world, and in all other countries. These studies are among the topical directions of modern linguistics, in particular – sociolinguistics. The language situation concept as a key scientific concept of modern linguistics approved in works of domestic and foreign scholars.. The article suggests ways of further development of the category on this basis through the study of the language situation in the modern cities of the Slavic world (Ljubljana (Slovenia), Minsk (Belarus)), cities of the Russian Federation (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Saratov). This will open the way for further comprehensive research of sociolinguistic problems in different regions of the world.
