    The Impossible Language of Psychoanalysis.Milena Motsinova-Brachkova - 2022 - Diogenes 30 (1):159-173.
Psychoanalysis, which has emerged as a method of healing through speech, is constantly changing because it takes into account the changing symbolic order and the emergence of an understanding of the unconscious other than what it is based on. In the beginning, the analysis of the unconscious in the Freudian sense is achieved through free associations and slips. Jacques Lacan’s early teachings introduced the idea of the unconscious structured as language, and the understanding of the symptom as a metaphor, and (...)

    The Question of Parental Authority.Rozeta Paskalieva - 2022 - Diogenes 30 (1):86-98.
The question of parental authority has been the focus of social interest for a long time. However, in recent times, it has gained greater attention from the public. Communication can be defined as the process of sharing ideas, experiences, attitudes and knowledge by transmission of symbolic messages. Dental medicine is an area where technical skills are not the only prerequisites for being a good health care provider. Soft skills, such as active listening to the patient, appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication, empathy, and respecting ethical rules are significant in the dentist–patient communication process. Consequently, they influence patients’ attitudes, satisfaction, and ongoing health-related behaviour. Therefore, a training course on communication (...)
