Normative ethics: deontology, consequentialism, or virtue ethics? | Lean toward: deontology | My own ongoing research program is to use the principles of right recognition (membership) and right relationship (mutuality) as bridging ideas across these very domains.
So far my emphasis on right relationship or mutuality has been work on the concept of liberty and the concept of solidarity in particular. There is more to be said to flesh out right relationship regarding care, concern, and empathy.
There is also much more to be said about right recognition regarding membership, citizenship, friendship, community, the commons, and the concept of place.
