The author analyzes the idea of “historical repetition” in the philosophical projects of Jacques Derrida and Gilles Deleuze, and finds many analogies. First of all, both thinkers agree that different ways of conceptualizing repetition determine our vision of historicity; secondly, both assert that repetition is a condition of possibility and, at the same time, a condition of impossibility of any political form of government; thirdly, both believe that a truly epochal event occurs only when “the time is out of joint” (...) and destroys the “one-dimensional” structure of temporality; fourthly, both view the revolution as a mechanism of self-referential actions by which it establishes itself – that is, it establishes itself for no reason other than its own realization; fifth, both believe that the revolution is a special historical event that allows for endless interpretation. When we interpret revolution, our reading take form not only textual interpretations but also sacral reproducing – as holidays, honoring of heroes, etc. Revolution generates temporal-retrospective diskurs which induces us to Re-interpretation of event, that over volens-nolens brings to proceeding of revolutionary process. On the whole, although the arguments of Derrida and Deleuze differ sometimes, however much both philosophers acknowledge single ethics and political impetus, which says: veritable future, created revolution, by the absolute break of usual temporal order, – it exactly coming, but not simple another day after today.
