    Josef Bocheski, pioneer of the discipline ofphilosophical sovietology and one of the firstto criticize Eurocentric attitudes, emphasizedthe central role of logic and sound argument inacademic philosophy. His endeavors and results areindispensable for the yet-to-be-written historyof Soviet philosophy.
