    Unsatisfied with stringent statistical theories of information such as Dretske's unity theory, Millikan (2001, 2004, 2007) and Shea (2007) have independently introduced ?soft? statistical notions of information.     I distinguish two forms of pluralism about biological functions, between-discipline pluralism and within-discipline pluralism.
