  1. Theories of justice underpinning equity in education for refugee and asylum-seeking youth in the U.S.: considering Rawls, Sandel, and Sen.Catherine Ward - 2020 - Ethics and Education 15 (3):315-335.
This paper probes theories of justice underpinning the concept of equity to deconstruct the term and ascertain how best to equitably support refugee and asylum-seeking youth in U.S. schools. Building upon theories posited by John Rawls, Michael Sandel, and Amartya Sen, the paper aims to extend beyond ideal theory into a theoretical framework of equity with operationalizing potential. Recognizing refugee and asylum-seeking youth as part of the U.S. social contract and therefore bound to government support, the paper represents that equitable (...)

  • Environmental justice and care: critical emancipatory contributions to sustainability discourse.Leonie Bellina & Daniela Gottschlich - 2017 - Agriculture and Human Values 34 (4):941-953.
Sustainability has become a powerful discourse, guiding the efforts of various stakeholders to find strategies for dealing with current and future social-ecological crises. Therefore, we engage two such approaches—environmental justice approaches informed by a plural understanding of justice and feminist political economy ones focusing on care—and their analytical potential for productive critique of normative assumptions in the dominant sustainability discourse. Both of these approaches (...)

:InThe Law of Peoples, John Rawls introduces a framework for realistic utopia, within which the limits of practicable political possibility are probed through the further development of his international theory. This essay addresses the apparent paradox of realistic utopianism within the context of, and in relation to, ideal theory, in an attempt to explore the scope and limits of Rawls’s theory. The ideas behind Rawls’s realistic utopia are discussed in detail, the concept is contrasted with ideal theory in order to (...)

  • Amartya Sen: Adalete küresel bir bakiș.Serpil Durğun - 2013 - Ethos: Dialogues in Philosophy and Social Sciences 6 (1).
Bu çalışmanın amacı Amartya Sen’in bakış açısından adalet kavramının değerlendirilmesidir.
