After a brief survey of arguments for a unitary particle theory of matter, offered by the writer in previous publications, the following new items are discussed. (1) The wave part of the dual aspect of matter, resting on the translation formula λ=h/p, is not covariant in the nonrelativistic domain. And relativistically, it is untenable not only on methodological grounds, but because it leads to obvious contradictions to elementary experience, e.g., in the equilibrium between a material oscillator and radiation. (2) The (...) photon story as usually presented is rectified historically and factually. (3) The previous derivation by the writer of quantum mechanical theory from a nonquantal background is supplemented, in order to be conclusive, by the postulate that the general probability relation is to become the ordinary addition law in the average. (4) Quotations from the writings of prominant dualists, intended by the latter to support their ideology, disclose a fantastic disarray of pseudophilosophical standpoints which can be cleared up only by repudiating the alleged dual nature of matter and of light and by ceasing to constantly mix up the contrast between particles and fields with that between particles and waves, and by returning to a strictly unitary aspect. This essay discusses the problem of the two cultures. According to the author the problem arises because science is the source of a new way of conceiving reality and man, different from the mental conception entertained by nonscientific persons. The article suggests methodological guidelines for the philosopher interested in understanding the humanistic mentality of the scientists. The approach proposed is inductive-genetic. The aim is to help the philosopher explore science in its developmental becoming so that he may become aware of (...) the reasons for the characteristic mentality of scientists as regards humanistic issues. Mathematics, proper language, instrument measurement, logic, skepticism, materialism, reductionism and an assessment of other scientific works as been the way since the French Revolution. Field theory in physics opens an opportunity to go back to natural philosophy and empirical observation swallowed by current events in science. Sheldrake's morphogenetic resonance from evolutionary biology fits field theory's necessary subject/object singularity and a bridge between genes and evolution. Empirical observation for science means eyes open. Over thirty years eyes closed research observation gives images (...) which are more stable during research periods and do not repeat themselves during non research periods. However, some non-repeating individual images show up in art during the last five hundred years confirming human morphogenetic resonance "image habits" in humans over time. Instrument images show similarities to non-repeating human images; Born's images of an atom, a galaxies from a space telescope, gold ions colliding, six iterations of a set of states [x,y] passed through the logistic map and an oscilloscope image reading of a tornado. Changing weather patterns by Qigong and assessing organ fields in the body shows human influences to nature and the self through lines of essence.
