  1. The Noema as Nash Equilibrium. Husserlian Phenomenology and Game Theory.Luca M. Possati - 2020 - Philosophia 48 (3):1147-1170.
The noema is one of the most daring and controversial concept of the Husserlian theory of intentionality. It was first introduced by Husserl in 1912, within some research manuscripts, but was only fully developed in Ideen. In this paper I claim that the noema is an ambiguous notion, the result of a theoretical operation, the epoché, whose aim is contradictory. In an effort to keep open the epoché, and therefore maintain distance with respect to every transcendent object, Husserl is forced (...)

  • The self and the others: Common topics for Husserl and Wittgenstein.Sara Heinämaa - 2012 - Southern Journal of Philosophy 50 (2):234-249.
Several commentators have argued that Husserl's phenomenological project is compromised or even destroyed by Wittgenstein's critical inquiries into our use of psychological concepts. In contrast to oppositional interpretations, this paper explicates certain crucial connections between Husserl's phenomenology and Wittgenstein's late thinking—shared views that concern the embodied nature of selfhood and our relations to other selves. In line with certain recent contributions, I argue that there are important similarities between Husserl's analysis of these phenomena and Wittgenstein's remarks on our use of (...)

  • Die phänomenologische Selbstgegebenheit: eine bloße Metapher? Ein Essay im Ausgang von Benoists "Éléments de philosophie réaliste".Virginie Palette - 2014 - Meta: Research in Hermeneutics, Phenomenology, and Practical Philosophy:28-43.
The sole aim of this paper is to approach Benoists conception of realism in his latest work Éléments de philosophie réaliste by analysing his sharp criticism of the phenomenological concept of -givenness. If it is true that we ‘have’ reality – i.e. if reality is always already present to us – why should we have to ask how it is given to us? givenness is nothing more than a vestige of representationalism, i.e. a mere epistemological form of access to reality (...)
