The greatest contribution to logic from Latin America is paraconsistent logic, first outlined by Peruvian Francisco Miro´ Quesada and later developed by the Brazilian Newton da Costa and his collaborators. Argentine Carlos Alchourron has made a contribution to epistemology through his original theory of belief revision, developed with colleagues from outside Latin America. Noteworthy contributions to philosophy of science include Ulises C. Moulines's structuralism in science, Mario Bunge's scientific realism, and Roberto Torretti’s historical approach to the foundations of physics. |
