Everyone Knows That Everyone Knows.Rahim Ramezanian, Rasoul Ramezanian, Hans van Ditmarsch & Malvin Gattinger - 2021 - In Mojtaba Mojtahedi, Shahid Rahman & MohammadSaleh Zarepour (eds.), Mathematics, Logic, and Their Philosophies: Essays in Honour of Mohammad Ardeshir. Springer. pp. 117-133.
A gossip protocolGossip protocol is a procedure for sharing secrets in a network. The basic action in a gossip protocolGossip protocol is a telephone call wherein the caller and the callee exchange all the secrets they know. An agent who knows all secrets is an expert. The usual termination condition is that all agents are experts. Instead, we explore some protocols wherein the termination condition is that all agents know that all agents are experts. We call such agents super experts. (...)

Decidability and Specker Sequences in Intuitionistic Mathematics.Mohammad Ardeshir & Rasoul Ramezanian - 2009 - Mathematical Logic Quarterly 55 (6):637-648.
A bounded monotone sequence of reals without a limit is called a Specker sequence. In Russian constructive analysis, Church's Thesis permits the existence of a Specker sequence. In intuitionistic mathematics, Brouwer's Continuity Principle implies it is false that every bounded monotone sequence of real numbers has a limit. We claim that the existence of Specker sequences crucially depends on the properties of intuitionistic decidable sets. We propose a schema about intuitionistic decidability that asserts “there exists an intuitionistic enumerable set that (...)

A Solution to the Surprise Exam Paradox in Constructive Mathematics.Mohammad Ardeshir & Rasoul Ramezanian - 2012 - Review of Symbolic Logic 5 (4):679-686.
We represent the well-known surprise exam paradox in constructive and computable mathematics and offer solutions. One solution is based on Brouwer’s continuity principle in constructive mathematics, and the other involves type 2 Turing computability in classical mathematics. We also discuss the backward induction paradox for extensive form games in constructive logic.

The Double Negation of the Intermediate Value Theorem.Mohammad Ardeshir & Rasoul Ramezanian - 2010 - Annals of Pure and Applied Logic 161 (6):737-744.
In the context of intuitionistic analysis, we consider the set consisting of all continuous functions from [0,1] to such that =0 and =1, and the set consisting of ’s in where there exists x[0,1] such that . It is well-known that there are weak counterexamples to the intermediate value theorem, and with Brouwer’s continuity principle we have . However, there exists no satisfying answer to . We try to answer to this question by reducing it to a schema about intuitionistic (...)

On the Constructive Notion of Closure Maps.Mohammad Ardeshir & Rasoul Ramezanian - 2012 - Mathematical Logic Quarterly 58 (4-5):348-355.
Let A be a subset of the constructive real line. What are the necessary and sufficient conditions for the set A such that A is continuously separated from other reals, i.e., there exists a continuous function f with f−1 = A? In this paper, we study the notions of closed sets and closure maps in constructive reverse mathematics.

    Education, Science and Truth.Rasoul Nejadmehr - 2009 - Routledge.
What is the main problem of contemporary education? Rasoul Nejadmehr argues that the cardinal problem with education is that it does not have an adequate notion of truth underpinning it. Thinkers mainly tend to veer towards two poles - absolutism and relativism. While a one-sided tendency toward absolutism leads to reified categories of thought and alienation, a tendency toward relativism leads to lack of universality and nihilism. Education, Science and Truth suggests a way out by bridging not only divides (...)

  7. Leo Strauss and Islamic Political Thought.Rasoul Namazi - 2022 - Cambridge University Press.
In this book, Rasoul Namazi offers the first in-depth study of Leo Strauss' writings on Islamic political thought, a topic that interested Strauss over the course of his career. Namazi's volume focuses on several important studies by Strauss on Islamic thought. He critically analyzes Strauss's notes on Averroes' commentary on Plato's Republic and also proposes an interpretation of Strauss' theologico-political notes on the Arabian Nights. Namazi also interprets Strauss' essay on Alfarabi's enigmatic treatise, The Philosophy of Plato and provides (...)

The Problem of Scientific Education.Rasoul Nejadmehr - 2017 - Confero: Essays on Education, Philosophy and Politics 5 (1):71-173.
In this essay, I term the dominant educational paradigm of our time as scientific education and subject it to historical analysis in order to bring its tacit racial, colonial and Eurocentric biases into view. I subsume this cluster of problems under the general heading of “the problem of scientific education”, a problem simultaneously submerged deeply in the invisible background of current education and across its foreground inasmuch as it conditions daily educational practices beyond educators’ awareness. The delicate question to be (...)

The Role of Economic and Legal Factors in the Emergence of the Street Children Phenomenon in Khorram Abad, Lorestan Province - Survey in 2015.Javad Momeni, Rasoul Mohsenzadeh, Tahereh Mohsenzadeh & Rasoul Zarchini - 2017 - International Letters of Social and Humanistic Sciences 77:56-65.
Publication date: 14 June 2017 Source: Author: Javad Momeni, Rasoul Mohsenzadeh, Tahereh Mohsenzadeh, Rasoul Zarchini In this research, we have studied the population of street children in Khorram Abad in Iran, in 2015, with the emphasis on the role of economic and legal factors forcing children to work on the streets. The results of this research show that the issue of child labor is the consequence of both global and local matters. These children are the products of the (...)

Although Ghazzali in his Tahafut al- falasifeh has strongly criticised peripatetic philosophers but in both the two theories that he has offered about the resurrection of the body is under the influence of Ibn Sina’s science of soul. In his Tahafut al- falasifeh, he introduces the theory of a new body as a possibility for the resurrection of the body which is based on being, immateriality and immortality of soul as well as acceptance of soul as a standard for the (...)

The Impact of Pragmatic Consciousness-Raising Tasks on EFL Learners’ Speech Act Strategy Use.Rasoul Mohammad Hosseinpur & Reza Bagheri Nevisi - 2020 - Pragmatics and Society 11 (4):570-590.
Although there are growing attempts to equip learners with strategies in the ESL/EFL classroom, there has not been much effort to implement strategies to assist learners in the learning of speech acts. This study investigated the impact and effectiveness of instruction on EFL learners’ use of speech act strategies. A group of 131 Iranian undergraduate students were instructed through deductive consciousness-raising, inductive C-R, and L1-based C-R tasks for seven weeks. The results obtained through Cohen and Ishihara’s speech act strategy inventory (...)

A Critique and Evaluation of the Methodological Foundations of Open Theism According to Clark Pinnock.Mohammad Ebrahim Torkamani, Ahmad Karimi & Rasoul Razavi - 2020 - Journal of Philosophical Theological Research 22 (4):115-1136.
In this article, we try to study Clark Pinnock’s point of view in explaining the methodological foundations of the Open Theism Theory with a descriptive-analytical method so that we can have a fair critique of the strengths and weaknesses of this theory while also understanding it correctly. Pinnock can be considered one of the most important theorists and founders of Open Theism. In his view, Open Theism is one of the theological-philosophical theories that have emerged in the critique of the (...)
